Spring Cleansing

This is my favourite time of year! When the blossom appears on my apple tree, my heart sings and I know that warmer days and more time in the garden follow!

Springtime is traditionally the time of spring cleaning. I find myself currently decluttering, painting the kitchen and embarking on a detox.

I’m day 2 into a 4 day juice fast and even though I did a weeks juice fast in January, I have decided to go for a top up after the sad news that my Auntie has signs of bowel cancer after a routine check up. Having lost my father and grandmother to bowel cancer, I stay on track with keeping my digestive system working efficiently. I believe that regular deep cleansing of the system will keep this terrible disease at bay.

I’ve read some amazingly positive results of people healing all sorts of ailments and plenty of negative results primarily of people using it in too higher doses. It works on the premise that friendly bacteria in the colon and vagina are aerobic. In other words, they flourish in high oxygen environments and thrive in the presence of oxygen rich H202. On the other hand, most strains of harmful bacteria (and cancer cells) are anaerobic and cannot survive in the presence of oxygen or H202.

I’m not advocating the benefit of either at the moment as I’m only just exploring them. However I will update you if I experience any significant benefits.

The following detox tips I have tried and tested and are well worth trying out to start you on the detox path. They easily assist the body’s natural ability to cleanse itself of toxins.

Drink freshly squeezed lemon and warm water first thing in the morning

Drink at least 2 litres mineral water throughout the day

Buy a body brush and brush towards the heart 5 mins per day before you shower to increase circulation.

Exercise until you sweat! At least 3 times a week.

Sweat it out in a sauna/steam room at least once a week.

Eat wholefoods from nature and ditch the takeaways!

Eat 3 portions of green veg per day. Greens are full of fibre and alkalise the body.

A tongue scraper and flossing keeps your mouth smelling sweet.

Use your full lung capacity, taking long deep breathes.

Detox your mind with 10 mins of meditation or self reflection time every day. I like do this first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

Avoid stress!
